What EPIK Textbooks Look Like

Here’s an inside look of Epik and Smoe Textbooks!

The type of textbook you use will depend on your school. The most popular textbooks are made by

  1. Cheonjae 천재
  2. YBM
  3. Daekyo 대교
  4. Dong – A 동아

I have been using Cheonjae textbooks since 2015. I got  lucky because my old and current school use the same textbooks. This year my 4th grade textbook changed to YBM. YBM and Cheonjae are very similar in format and layout.

The English textbooks that you will be teaching will probably be in a similar format. Personally, I prefer the Cheonjae textbooks. They have a lot more added materials you can use. The CD-Rom’s are easy to use and the scenes and audio for Look & Listen/Say can be broken down into sections. This is really helpful when you need to practice specific dialogues.

YBM’s CD-Rom is a little bit more confusing to use and you cannot break down scenes/audio’s in sections. The repeat/practice functions are also delayed on the chant and sing sections so it’s a bit hard to repeat and practice the songs.

I have a lot more to say about these textbooks so please wait for my next post. I will go into more detail about how I teach each period.
